It's not the heat, it's the humidity.

It's true. We hadn't used our air conditioner at all until yesterday, and it was only about 22 degrees (Celsius, of course.) Unfortunately the humidity was about 687% and out poor little dehumidifier couldn't keep up. Now, I know we didn't *have* to turn it on, but I was getting a little sick of the feeling of my feet sticking to the floor. Today it is supposed to be hotter, but still very humid, so the air is running again. Boo-urns.

The thing is, it really IS the humidity. We spent three weeks in a city in Central Asia in July, 2004 and it was HOT. We are talking 40 degrees, 50 downtown. But it wasn't humid. We certainly still felt the effects of the heat, but it was quite bearable. It is NEVER hot without being humid in Manitoba.

In other news, Monkey is quite taken with this chap these days. I'm afraid that's my influence. Did anyone else watch this when they were younger?

In other news, the Music Man has holidays this coming week. Yay! We have some small-ish plans. The Folk Fest in my home town, a couple days of tenting (we'll see how that goes. Otherwise known as a blog post waiting to happen...), and, hopefully, some time to just chill out.

Take care. Keep cool.

I don't think I really remember
Postman Pat but I immediately thought of Paddington Bear. Wasn't there something about post boxes in that show?
It's horribly humid here too and it truly is gross to exercise while trying not to stick to oneself.
I owe you an email but I am slow this week.
Enjoy your holidays!!

Postman Pat is older than NOW? I had no idea. WE've watched him on occasion...
Well, it was rather nicely summery outside, but now it's pouring rather dramtically. Pshaw.

I 100% agree about the humidity. I moved to a more humid place than where I grew up and I can't imagine not having a/c around here.

I have never heard of Postman Pat.

I hear you. Look up the weather for Memphis, Tennessee and you will see it is not only 100 degrees but it's 100 percent HUMIDITY as well. The old AC has been working for a while now and the electric bills are insane!
