O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

We did it! We went on a date last night, leaving baby at home with a sitter and the world (surprisingly) did not come to an end!

I was so nervous at supper time I could hardy eat. Talk about separation anxiety. We put Baby to bed as usual, and he was well asleep when our babysitter showed up. Now, I mentioned yesterday that she is an adult with kids of her own, and that's exactly what she said to me, "It's not like you are leaving him with a teenager."

The movie was good, we both liked it. If you like Hugh Grant, then you will like it. Very much a cute rom-com, but that's what I like every now and then. When the movie was over we got our pictures taken in the Mall Photo Booth. "Photos. Electric Lighting. All Photos Sharp and Clear." I love those things. 4 poses 3 minutes 2 Dollars. Talk about good clean fun.

Now Baby and Husband are out for a walk to pick up a news paper and the mail. The blizzard still hasn't shown up, by the way. It was windy last night, but nary a flake of snow. (Well, maybe one flake.) This morning, however, everything was covered in a thin layer of ice, which I discovered while shoveling the walk.

I forgot to floss my teeth last night. I didn't even make it three days. I'm sorry, I will try harder. The chocolate thing hasn't been a problem (we got popcorn at the movie instead of M & Ms).

I am not reading a book right now, and need to pick a new one. Any suggestions? (I have a couple I want to read sometime soon, but aren't appealing to me right now. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and an Ian Rankin one that I haven't read yet)

Have a good weekend.

There's nothing like a first date, is there? (Even when the person one is dating is also the father of one's child. Especially then.)

I love Hugh Grant, but he just seemed a little too, um, fatherly in that movie. There was a just a bit of an ew factor.

I haven't seen that movie yet, but ol' Hugh IS getting older and older.
You know, I've never left my kids with a babysitter who hasn't also given birth to me. I'm so chicken. You're brave!

Well, yes, a bit of ew. But I think he's aging well. (ie. cuter now than in Nine Months)

My mom is a two hour drive away, otherwise she would be the babysitter of choice, for sure.
